First Taste’s new DVD “Where’er You Walk
Mar 23, 2015

This film, of sights and sounds to stimulate and soothe, had been produced specifically for use by care staff working with older people with dementia and can also be used to support care staff training in reminiscence. The film is divided into four sections: spring, summer, autumn & winter and has a range of domestic, wildlife, workplace and leisure sequences, much of it shot across Derbyshire and features familiar music and well known poems and prose. Simon Groom, former Blue Peter presenter, generously offered his services to recite some of the poems.

First Taste is grateful to the following organisations and individuals for help and financial support in producing this special film: National Lottery’s Awards for All Programme; Derbyshire Community Foundation’s Ashy Fund, Derbyshire County Council’s Public Relations Dept; Derbyshire Dales District Council’s Arts Development Fund; the Arkwright Lodge & the Grand Provincial Lodge of Freemasons; Pat Hancock’s Legacy, Winster Guisers, and the Cole/Davison Legacy Fund. First Taste’s Trustees would also like to thank the many other people who over the past year have assisted in a wide variety of ways to facilitate the production of this DVD.
