An Achievement Award was presented to Dawn Ford – Activity Organiser at Derbyshire County Council, Red House Care Home, Chesterfield. First Taste nominated her for a NIACE Learner Award. She has been an enthusiastic participant (and still is) on the Training Programme for carers, which is managed by Cecilia Harris. Dawn instigated all her newly acquired skills into her care home activity programme while being a tremendous support to her fellow carer colleagues. She was invited to a special presentation ceremony held in Leicester on 16th May 2012 and has since been appointed to an Activity Organiser position at Staveley Care Centre.
All at First Taste congratulate her & wish her well in her new post.

First Taste was one of the 6 finalists in the ITV Central Region Jubilee Peoples Millions Competition with our VOYAGE (Valueing of Youth and Age) Project and that although the Project was unsuccessful an application to the National Lottery’s Reaching Communities Programme we are continuing negotiations with the local school so as to continue the project.
